Take a Bike, Start Late

Traffic is an issue for many workers who travel far for work and some companies have offered their employees flexible working hours along with working days at home.

I know there are some people who use public transportation and vehicles likes bikes and even though it is a great way to lessen a person's carbon imprint, I know it really sucks waking up at 5 AM to wake up for work.

view from my work
I was thinking it would be a great idea to suggest to employers already implementing the stay at home policy to suggest a special policy for people who do use public transportation or ride a bike to work to have a different starting time.  Not only would it help with traffic, but the more people who use the public transportation system the better it can improve.

I really hate having to drive up to work for about thirty miles to my nanny job up in the hills.  The family lives away from every near by city and has a fantastic view, but it guzzles gas.

I rode of public transportation for four years and I know the system isn't perfect, but the system is also flawed because how we set up are cities is for an ear based on cars.

In the future I imagine a world full of light rails, high speed trains and cities built around these.  I cannot understand California's resistance to a high speed rail, if we don't start now it will only cost us more money.  I really can't stand people who cannot look to the future and only think of themselves.

Hey Nanny

My Painting, Oh No Snow White
I started out in school seeking a degree in creative writing, but as time passed I realized I'm not a writer at this point in my life.  I just haven't lived enough to really write anything, so I've returned to another love of mine, childcare.

I find such joy in caring for children through learning and exploring and at the moment I have one job and another soon.

The parents I work for are liberal, understanding and extremely flexible, especially when it comes to me continuing school.

I think I've earned weekends off, especially after working for over 6 years without much hope for a Saturday or Sunday off.  One of the worst phrases I used to hear was "Have a great weekend!"  I'm sorry, but if you say those words to a retail/food service employee, you have committed a serious social crime.

I'm here working for eight hours on a day you have off, how do you think I feel?

I am past this now and I don't have to work weekends unless I want to.  This gives me time to focus on my art and perhaps I will write a great novel or set of short stories.  Many writers do not reach their peak until they're early thirties, maybe by then I will have something to write.

I can see why I need to write, to hone my skills in storytelling, much like how an artist takes many life drawing classes in order to understand reality before they bend reality.

Caution Zombies
I've wanted to write a screenplay about retail, especially about my coffee shop job, I never realized how much pain I've caused to the coffee pusher.  That's why people who mull around and don't know what they want piss me off.  Know what you want, then get in line these people want to think beyond you and smoke some pot in the back.

I never understood the lack of respect retail workers receive.  Heads up, we're people, have feelings and deserve better healthcare and a living wage.

I truly believe forcing the young to work a part time job, go to school, eat badly, stress about money is unhealthy for everyone.  Also, when you work retail for a career it promotes very unhealthy mental and physical habits out of fear of losing your job.

Why didn't I become a nanny years ago?

I think I was scared or just didn't know what I wanted but now, thank the gods, I do and living how I want.

Spell for Success

I am a hard worker, but who doesn't want a little assistance in searching for a job right now? I just did a little spell to help my niece out with her interviews, and with the economy as it is she needs all the prayer, luck, spells and success thrown at her.

She did do half the work in looking for a job, she is also a hard worker and currently has a job, where she was offered a promotion, however she declined because it was too much work for a minuscule raise in pay.

So, for the spell for her I used 2 GREEN candles (to symbolize her two interviews today) and a modified incense from Scott Cunninghams Incense, Oils and Brews (1989).

3 parts WOOD ALOE
2 parts RED STORAX (all storax is unavailable so use FRANKINCENSE or GUM ARABIC)
1 part NUTMEG

MINE:
3 parts SANDALWOOD with Creativity Oil
2 parts GUM ARABIC
1 part NUTMEG
1 part ROSE

I added 1 part ROSE PETALS for love/purity of intent and some Creativity Oil by Dancing Witch from Serpents Kiss.

To further the intent I burned a pice of paper with a few sentences stating how my niece WILL have a good interview, she WILL receive a call back, ect. This is to compensate for my lack of meditation focus. Sometimes, especially when I don't feel 100% I just can't keep my visualization up, so I burned my willful words instead.

Hope this helps anyone who needs some success in their life. And please be careful when using fire. :)

Have any successful spell stories you want to share?

Blessed be,
Shadow Moon

Catching Up

Merry meet,

Again, it has been a long time since I have written anything mainly because of my chaotic mundane life at the moment. The down-low version:

*new boyfriend
*mother still sick
*looking for a better job
*working (for free) on a comic for a friend
*still making stupid videos
*school >P
*making lots of new friends

Yes I'm really busy, but since I have to stay up for laundry anyway I decided to jot down a quick message.

For my spiritual life, it's been pretty empty, mainly because I've been lazy. I feel horrible, and I need to stick with it because it will be better for my spirit. The latest spell I did was for a friend to help him find a job and it worked, but that was months ago. I think I need to focus more on myself instead of others if I hope to receive anything.

My life is mostly in peace, but for the little emotional bumps. I love the new boyfriend, he is so sweet, nice, kind, gentle, has his own place and a well paying job. I thank the god and goddess constantly, but I think it's my turn to have some good fortune. However, I do firmly beleive that I will receive nothing until I can handle myself on the budget I have, or at least ask for help from my parents. I do think this is why I can't find a better job, so I better get controlling my dollars.

It's really difficult for me though, I've never had to really watch my money until now. Perhaps I've just been asking for the wrong things, instead of a job, maybe a better control over my cash? I truly don't know.

Everyone is having financial difficulties and I'm glad most of my friends have found decent jobs (I'm still looking constantly). I applied for FASFA to help my dad out with my school expenses, I hope they take me so I can finally finish school and earn my creative writing degree.

By the way, since I broke up with Brian I've had a creative storm. It feels so good to be writing again, even thought I hit days where I can't type a word, most I can keep my fingers busy.

So, please wish me luck in tightening my belt.

Blessed be :)

Being Sick Sucks

Of course on the first week of school I catch a nasty cold. Not only did I miss class, but two days of work. DANG! I really need the hours :( And I'm hoping I receive a call from a library job soon...16$ an hour...shelving books...air conditioning...an English Majors dream....

I've just been so wrapped up in school, work and stuffy noses that I'm thankful the full moon is coming :)

Also, my fiance was almost hired for a scam. I'm just so angry at people who use these hard economic times to take advantage of the financially desperate. It takes a very twisted individual to call and promise a job which requires lying and manipulation to accomplish. GERR, it just makes me so MAD!

So, onto a witchy matter, I recently did a tarot reading for my fiance and I'm happy because he is a Christian and he did say it helped give him some clarity on his situation. I'm new to using tarot, but I seem to have a ability, as long as I stay focused :) I understand all the forms of divination are just to be used as a tool for life changing decisions and problems, not an absolute guide to what shall be. Because the individual can change their own future depending on their choices.
